N6 N26: No power to G wire detected. When it’s not running, the Nest still needs to get power. I’ve been having a similar issue with my Rh wire on the gen 3 device. Contractor's Assistant: Just to clarify, do you think this is a larger HVAC problem, or something specific to the thermostat? -Check all the wires and their connections making sure they are properly secure at the Nest and on the unit.-Check continuity of all wires from Nest to unit-power off.-Remove C wire, nut it off so it doesn't touch any other wires, flip breaker back on.-Remove Nest, try charging it … N3 N23: No power to Wlwire detected. It worked fine until a few weeks ago. So I just purchased a nest, and it doesn't detect my RH wire when I have the C wire in. In low voltage controlled systems, there will be a step down transformer that provides the power to the control circuitry. When doing your own research on the Nest pulsing problem, look for terms like: pulsing, cycling, short cycle, power leeching, no c-wire, heat-only and cooling-only. These 2 connections will set the Nest thermostat as a ‘smart 2 wire thermostat’ taking care of your home heating ‘smartly’. Use a wet/dry shop vac to remove the clog by placing it in wet mode (remove the filter) and attaching it to the end of the condensate drain line. Note that “pulsing” is a term the Nest community has come up with for the problem, and Nest themselves do not seem to name this problem in any specific way. This is what the original wiring was like on my Honeywell programmable thermostat. If you just have an R wire, it’s responsible for powering your entire HVAC system (through the use of a transformer). If Heat does not turn on , try Rc to Rh wire switch , if AC or heat does not then base is no good , order new base from nest. A C-wire or common wire is also used as a neutral to complete the circuit and provide a continuous flow of power. (24 v AC from the control board) Rc: Power for cooling Rh: Power for heating C terminal will use the blue or black wire (Common wire, It enables the continuous flow of 24 v AC from the Red wire.) I naively thought that I could just move the Rh wire to Rc and the W1 wire to Y1, then move the independent transformer wires to C and Rh, but it doesn't seem to work. I have W and RH wires from my boiler and G, Y, and RC wires from my AC. Your Nest isn’t electrically detecting your Rh wire, but one is connected to the Nest base. FI don't know. The nest tells me E22 no power to rc and rh wires n I disconnect the cooling wires and common and connected heating wires to cooling side and than it reads the power and heat comes up so I have A/C on thermostat but using it to heat how do I get it to work with heat connected on heat side n cooling connected to cooling side with common wire? E4, E24 & E74 No power toRhwire detected. I have power to RH, the W and the C and the G are connected, voltmeter confirms there is 24 volts between RH & C, RH & W, RH & G, but still getting E24 , could it be a bad nest? Choose a product. R, Rh, and Rc are all the same, but not. Your Nest isn’t electrically detecting your AUX/W2 wire, but one is connected to the Nest base. No power wires detected.RcorRhwire required. If that doesn’t work, try putting the red wire in the Rc port to see if it registers. The Nest 3rd Gen thermostat has 10 terminals, say Rh, Rc, W1,W2(aux) Y1, Y2, O/B, G, C, etc. The Nest Thermostat isn’t electrically detecting yourRcwire. at NEST THERMOSTAT INSTALLATION & WIRING (found by searching in the search box just above for Nest Thermostat Wiring) Watch out: indeed the Nest and other low-voltagee thermostats usually require power from a low-voltage transformer that you may need to add and wire to your system. 05-28-2013, 03:47 PM #3 I gave it plenty of ti … Effectively there isn't a second RH wire, although there is an RH terminal.
